Highlights worth adding to your diary

Monday 27

Opening speech and start of the festivities

A lunchtime vermouth with a brass band sets the festive mood. At 20:00 the opening speech is followed by the ceremonial rocket and an open-air dance with the Nueva Banda orchestra.

Wednesday 29

Tradition, theatre and live orchestra

The day brings together the traditional Quintos events, free theatre at the Cultural Centre at 22:00 and an open-air dance with the Nebraska orchestra.

Friday 31

Theatre, dancing and fancy dress

The evening continues with comedy at the Cultural Centre, the Pikante orchestra and the adult fancy-dress competition at midnight.

Saturday 1

The fullest day of the week

Children’s activities, the traditional street event, afternoon music and a big night in Plaza de Castilla with the Dier orchestra and Disco Galaxy.

Sunday 2

A family finale

The final day includes the traditional street event, children’s fancy dress and live music with Los Arenales before the prize-giving.

Throughout the week

Music and life in the streets

Street parades, peñas, brass bands and a varied programme turn central San Rafael into the place to meet throughout the week.

A practical tip: the municipal programme includes a circular night bus during the festivities. Times and activities may change, so we recommend checking the official programme before setting out.

Celebration and relaxation, without giving up either

The best way to enjoy these days may be to combine the village atmosphere with moments of genuine calm. In San Rafael, you can join the celebration and, a few hours later, return to the gardens, the pool and the quiet of the mountains.
